Accessibility Statement
— A Site for Everyone —
At Wok From China, we believe cooking should be accessible to everyone. We’re committed to making our website usable for all visitors, including those who rely on assistive technologies.
Our Commitment
We strive to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our content and design.
Accessibility Features
Our site includes the following accessibility features:
- Descriptive alt text on all images, so screen readers can describe what’s shown
- Clear heading structure (H1, H2, H3) for easy navigation with screen readers
- Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements can be accessed via keyboard
- Sufficient color contrast between text and background
- Responsive design that works on phones, tablets, and desktops
- Resizable text — you can increase font size in your browser without breaking the layout
- Descriptive link text — links describe their destination, avoiding generic “click here”
- Print-friendly recipes — recipe cards can be printed in a clean, easy-to-read format
Recipe Accessibility
We design our recipes with accessibility in mind:
- Ingredients and instructions are clearly separated
- Measurements are given in both metric and US customary units
- Cooking steps are numbered and described in plain language
- Specialized terms (like “wok hei” or “blanching”) are explained on first use
- Servings can be adjusted with automatic recalculation
Known Limitations
We are a small, independent food blog. While we work hard to maintain accessibility, some content may have limitations:
- Older posts may not have complete alt text — we are progressively updating
- Third-party content (ads, embedded social media) may not meet our standards
- Video content (when added) may not yet include captions — we are working on this
Feedback Welcome
If you experience any accessibility barriers on our site, please let us know. Your feedback helps us improve. Email us at hello@wokfromchina.com with:
- The page URL where you encountered the issue
- A description of the problem
- What assistive technology you were using (if applicable)
We aim to respond within 5 business days and address issues as quickly as possible.
Thank you for helping us build a better site.
